Monthly test monitoring system in Haryana Govt schools on anvil

PNS

Haryana Government has decided to introduce monthly test monitoring system to create central repository of monthly tests for all classes and subjects in all Government schools and generate analytical reports to improve the results.

Haryana Education Minister, Ram Bilas Sharma on Wednesday said that such tests will be held in Government schools every month.

The Minister, who was referring to the IT initiatives taken by the Education Department to further improve its efficiency, said that academic inspection monitoring system is also being adopted to create central repository of school inspections carried out by different inspecting officers.

The objective of the system is to conduct academic inspection of every school at least once a year and ensure that every inspecting officer visits the minimum prescribed number of schools every month for inspection and submits inspection report online. It would also make available analytical reports of academic inspection of schools for analysis, said the Minister.

He said that other such initiatives included PARIVARTAN-School MIS and Court Cases Monitoring System. The vision of PARIVARTAN is to orient the system towards academic quality, transparency, accountability by creating robust and integrated MIS and automating backend processes and to transform the Department into Digitally Empowered Organisation.

This would also reduce repeated data requests from the schools like enrolment on category, date of birth and BPl basis. It would enable the teachers to lay more focus on academic activities. It would also streamline the Department's administrative processes like student admissions, scholarship distribution, printing of text books, redistribution of posts, transfers of teacher through automation, he added.

Sharma said that the MIS is being organised around three main entities, i.e. students, schools and employees. Unique ID would be allotted to each student ‘Student Registration Number’ (SRN).

He said that Aadhaar integration of all students and teachers and bank accounts of students for direct benefit transfer would be done. Data of more than 22 lakh students has been digitised and there is a target to make data of more than 26 lakh students, more than one lakh employees and 14,570 schools online.

After this, all teachers and employees of School Education Department would be able to apply online for approval of permission for foreign tour, higher studies and extension in service after attaining the age of 58 years. Apart from this, students would also be able to get online admission in classes one to 10 plus two, the Minister said.

Sharma added that the Education Department is also introducing Court Cases Monitoring System which would enable the legal Cell of the Directorates, Secondary as well as Elementary, to regularly update status of court cases including reply filing, date of hearing, directions and action taken.
