After the state witnessed death of four COVID patients due to shortage of oxygen supply in a private hospital at Rewari district, Haryana Chief Secretary Vijai Vardhan on Sunday directed all Deputy Commissioners to frequently monitor the availability of ICU and oxygen beds in government and private hospitals of their concerned districts.

The Deputy Commissioners were also asked to ensure that RT-PCR testing reports are available on time across the state.

The Chief Secretary presided over the meeting of the State Level Crisis Coordination Committee here which was attended by Deputy Commissioners and SPs of all the districts.

He directed that a committee headed by high level officers in every district should be constituted in order to ensure the proper allocation of oxygen in each district.  This committee should ensure supply of oxygen to all government and non-government hospitals in the district as per requirement, he said.

Vardhan further directed that the oxygen supply allocated by the government should be lifted on time. One officer should be posted for monitoring government and non-government hospitals. The government had earlier announced to appoint nodal officers in districts to monitor the requirement and supply of oxygen in hospitals.

The Chief Secretary said that all the Deputy Commissioners should visit the hospitals, containment zones and labs from time to time to map the situation on ground.

Vardhan said in this hour of Corona pandemic crisis, the officers should work with complete coordination and create containment zones with immediate effect in the areas where cases are rapidly increasing. He said that incident commanders should be appointed in these areas and directed to increase the medical facilities for the patients who are home isolated. He also suggested that the MPs, MLAs, Chairmen and members of the market committees should take a decision to form containment zones and take other necessary steps for COVID precaution in their concerned areas.

The Chief Secretary further directed that every possible step should be taken to curb the spread of Coronavirus.

Strict surveillance should be maintained on the black marketing of Remdesivir injection and the committee of administrative officials should frequently check and prepare daily reports of its consumption and availability.
