The rally being held by the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) in Moga to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the SAD is set to witness a congregation of more than two lakh people and will pave the way for a change in regime as well as all round development and peace and communal harmony in Punjab, party chief Sukhbir Singh Badal said on Monday.

Badal, who has personally overseen the preparations for the rally, said the sea of humanity which will descend at Moga will begin the countdown of the corrupt, scam ridden Congress government which has betrayed each and every section of society and reneged on all the promises made to the people. He said the mood of the people was clear. “They want a responsive government which takes along all sections of society with it besides ensuring communal harmony and rule of law. This is why the people have decided to elect the SAD- BSP alliance to power,” he added.

The SAD President said the entire rally would be held across 100 acres of land with the main seating pandal itself being around 40 acres. He said separate space had been earmarked to sleep 10,000 workers who had reached the rally spot on Monday besides space allotted for ‘Langars’ and car parking. He said accommodation had been readied for another 10,000 persons in gurdwaras and marriage palaces in Moga and surrounding constituencies.   Badal said a photo exhibit had also been established at the rally spot showcasing the history of the party as well as ‘morchas’ and people programmes undertaken in the interest of farmers, poor and downtrodden.

The rally will be addressed by SAD Patron Parkash Singh Badal, party President Sukhbir Singh Badal and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Senior Vice President Satish Mishra.
