Punjab Revenue and Public Relations Minister Bikram Singh Majithia on Wednesday demanded a probe by joint parliamentary committee (JPC) or a Supreme Court judge into alleged misdeeds of UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi”s son-in-law Robert Vadra.
“Congress is adopting double standards as on the one hand, it is supporting Uttar Pradesh IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal, but on the other, an upright IAS officer like Ashok Khemka was being targeted and marginalised by Congress-ruled Haryana Government for exposing Vadra”s land scams,” said Majithia.
He said the UPA was virtually on ventilator as it had been compelled to announce special packages to keep intact its “pulse”. He pointed out that packages of Rs 9,000 crore and Rs 13,000 crore had been issued for UP and Bihar, respectively. Criticising Union Ministers from Punjab, Majithia dared them to show a single project which they had got sanctioned for the State.
He asked the Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari what industrial package he had got approved for ludhiana, adding that Union Minister of State for Health Santosh Chaudhary had nothing done for Punjab except making a hue and cry over the Chief Minister”s pictures on the “108” ambulance service.
lashing out at Punjab Congress chief Partap Singh Bajwa, Majitha said that former had sided with “butchers of the 1984 massacre” in Parliament and opposed Akali-BJP MPs who were raising the issue of justice for thousands of innocent victims.
