Rains are likely to lash several parts of Punjab and Haryana in next 48 hours.The local MeT Department has forecast light to moderate rainfall at isolated places during next 36 hours in the region and then during weekend.
Earlier, the region had witnessed rainfall last week, resulting in decline in temperature levels by upto nine notches below normal at several places.Meanwhile, the temperature levels witnessed slight increase in some parts of Punjab and Haryana on Wednesday.
The union territory of Chandigarh settled at maximum temperature of 40.4 degrees Celsius while minimum temperature was 26.4 degrees. In neighboring State of Himachal Pradesh, the capital city – Shimla recorded maximum temperature at 27.5 degrees Celsius and minimum settled at 16.2 degrees Celsius.
