land deals: Bajwa counters Majithia allegations

PNS

Two days after the ruling SAD-BJP alliance accused Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa of shady land deals, Bajwa on Saturday refuted the allegations alleging the issue was raised in the Vidhan Sabha under “planned conspiracy” to divert the attention of people from important issues.

On Thursday, Bajwa was accused by the Akali Dal of buying panchayat lands at low prices on the Floor of the Assembly.

Addressing a Press conference here, Bajwa said that Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia had misled the House by quoting selective parts of report of Justice Kuldip Singh Tribunal submitted to the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

PPCC president said that he had full faith in the judiciary and whatever decision the High Court Bench would give he would abide by it.

He did not comment on the title of the land purchased by him as the matter is sub judice .

Bajwa said that he had got registered the land falling in Bharojian village at prescribed collector rate and the Tehsildar had verified the title of the land.

He said that real issue in the Vidhan Sabha was not his(Bajwa’s) land deal but the core issues of emergence of real estate mafia, sand mafia, liquor mafia and transport mafia.

leader of Opposition Sunil Jakhar who was present in the press Conference, said that Congress would consider to file privilege motion if it is found that report of the Justice Kuldip Singh Tribunal quoted in the Vidhan Sabha was breach of privilege.
