PNS

Due to inclement weather and heavy downpour, the venue of Kisan Sammelan of four-day Progressive Punjab Agriculture Summit from February 16-19, has been shifted from Baba Banda Singh Bahadur War Memorial in Chapparchiri (Mohali) to the New Vegetable and Fruit Market, Phase 11 (Sector 65-A) Mohali.

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal took the decision on Saturday after a detailed meeting with the senior officers of the State Government while reviewing the arrangements of the mega event.

later in the afternoon, Badal with senior officers visited the site of the function at Chapparchiri to review the situation on the spot as the venue of Kisan Sammelan was badly submerged in rain water rendering its venue marshy. Badal also visited the newly constructed vegetable and fruit market in Phase 11 to monitor the new venue.

However, all other events related to PPAS, including inauguration of agro-tech exhibition by the Chief Minister on February 16 at 11.30 am and technical sessions on the following days would be held as per already stipulated scheduled at Chapparchiri.
