PNS

To take stock of the unsettled issues of the industry of Chandigarh, she took part in an interactive session on Tuesday. She was accompanied by the BJP’s State president, Sanjay Tandon at the event which was organised by the PHD Chamber of Commerce.

Talking about the problems of  industry, Kher said, “The current policies of the Administration have killed industry. Basically, those industrialists who were allotted land 50 years for running a certain business are not allowed to change the nature of industry without shelling out `20,000 per square ft. For violating the laws, one has to pay the penalty of `500 per square feet.”

“The long-pending demand of industrialists for converting industrial sites from leasehold to freehold should be met. The conversion of leasehold industrial plots to freehold on the pattern of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh is feasible”.

She also suggested for setting up a single window complaint Centre following the model of Gujarat so that many problems get resolved quickly.

Earlier a day before, Kirron Kher interacted with people on the social networking website Twitter.

After finishing the day-long campaigning in the various places of the city, Kher engaged with her followers on Twitter at late night on Monday. The one-hour session which began at 9 pm was facilitated by the BJP’s convener of IT Cell, Deepak Malhotra.

In the presence of BJP’s senior leaders, Kirron assured people that every problem could be dealt with a proper mechanism.

After its executive meeting turned into a bloody fight on Monday night, BJP leaders chose to maintain silence on the whole issue and termed it as a personal enmity between two party workers.

During the fight, the party’s colony cell chairman Anil Dubey was attacked on his leg with a knife.

The police had taken BJP mandal president Mukesh Rai and three others in custody after the incident. The incident took place inside the party office where over 1,000 party workers were present to attend the party’s executive meet.

When the clash took place, BJP candidate Kirron Kher, city unit president Sanjay Tandon, former MP Satya Pal Jain, party in-charge of Chandigarh Aarti Mehra and other senior leaders were also present in the party office.
