Few days ago, Kirron had posted a Tweet, “I may not be Tech savvy but I am surely life savvy. let's all together give a better life to Chandigarh and it's people.” Now, Kirron has been making an all out effort to connect with the city voters and share her vision about Chandigarh on Twitter.
With an aim to get in touch with the voters, the party has planned interactive session of Kirron on Twitter, Facebook, smartphone application “WhatsApp”. Also, she would soon be hosting a Google Hangout session where she would interact with city denizens and party workers.
The party had recently organized one hour #AskKirronKher session on Twitter, where she answered a number of questions related to Chandigarh. She posted her opinion and answered questions on various issues including infrastructure, metro service, fight against corruption among others. After conducting the session, she says, “I enjoy connecting with the city residents and would continue doing so.”
“The party would be organising more interactive sessions of party’s candidate Kirron Kher. The sessions would be organised through Twitter and Facebook,” said Deepak Malhotra, Chandigarh BJP’s convener of IT Cell while talking to The Pioneer.
He said, “She would also be connecting with the denizens through “WhatsApp”, a smartphone application. The residents can ask her questions and she would be available to share her vision about the city. The party has also planned a Google hangout session of Kher and it would be organised soon.”
“As she is busy campaigning in the field for most of the time throughout the day, the interactive sessions are likely to be held after 8 pm. The party has already held one interactive session on Twitter and more would be organized in the coming days,” he added.
Kher’s opponent Aam Aadmi Party’s candidate, 35 years old Gul Panag is also very active on social networking website Twitter and has about 8 lakh followers. She is also reaching out to the voters through Twitter and has been posting her pictures during campaigns and her views about Chandigarh.
The two Bollywood actors, Kher and Panag have been taking digs at each other on Twitter. After wishing each other good luck for elections, the two celebrities have been posting some unpleasant Tweets attacking each other. All the political parties have created Facebook pages and Twitter account of their candidates in an endeavour to garner voters support in the elections.
Besides displaying a profile of contesting candidate from the party, the Facebook pages are giving details of various campaigning programmes initiated by the political parties. Pictures and other information of the ongoing campaigning activities are also being uploaded on the Facebook and Twitter accounts on daily basis to make it more appealing for the visitors.
