The inter-state bus service of Chandigarh Transport Undertaking and other State Transport Undertakings will resume with 50 percent capacity in the city from September 16. The UT Administration has on Friday written a letter to eight State Governments for resuming the inter-state bus service with effect from September 16 and also issued a standard operating procedure to be followed by STUs buses entering ISBTs in Chandigarh. The long route bus service of CTU had started from June 10 but was suspended after two days following the surge in the number of COVID-19 cases due to travelers. While the long route buses of CTU and other state transport undertakings were suspended, the tri-city buses were allowed to operate.
