Indian National lok Dal, Haryana’s main opposition party on Monday announced to go ahead with their decision to reach Ismailpur village in Ambala on February 23 for digging of the Sutlej Yamnuna link (SYl) canal.

INlD’s Haryana president Ashok Arora and senior party leader Abhay Singh Chautala on Monday chaired the political affairs committee meeting of the party in New Delhi to chalk out a strategy to corner the BJP led State Government on SYl issue.

After the meeting, Chautala said that all party members will reach Ambala on February 23 for digging up the SYl canal, which is in interest of the people of Haryana.

He said that the INlD has been organising Jan  Jagran Abhiyan in the State to garner the support of the people on the SYl issue and urging them to reach Ambala on February 23, to start digging the SYl canal,

Chautala had recently announced that the INlD will stage a dharna at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on February 15 if the Prime Minister Narendra Modi does not give an appointment to the party to meet on the SYl issue.

last month, the INlD had submitted a memorandum to Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki, demanding dismissal of the Khattar led BJP Government  for its alleged failure in performing the constitutional responsibility and failing to bring SYl waters to the State after Supreme Court’s ruling in Haryana’s favour.
