Ahead of the upcoming Assembly polls in the State, the Indian National lok Dal (INlD) has raised questions on the role of several bureaucrats working in the Haryana Government and has also given a memorandum regarding it to the Chief Election Commissioner of India.

RS Chaudhry, national general secretary of INlD, alleged that Roshal lal (a known Hooda loyalist) — who was appointed as Home Secretary on August 1, 2014 — has been involved in several scams in Agriculture Department, viz, corruption in RAXIl and seeds purchase. An officer, who is neutral, may be appointed as the Home Secretary till the end of the election process, he said. Chaudhry added that Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda is learnt to have exercised undue influence upon the officers of the ECI to protect his, another favorite officer, Ramesh Krishan, Secretary Home, from disciplinary action.

“Ramesh Krishan was removed from the duty of election observer in Kerala on March 30, 2014 in the recently concluded general lS elections after he was found to be misusing the official vehicle by making unauthorised trips to Trivandrum for playing golf. The officers of the ECI acting under the influence of Hooda did not register an FIR against Krishan for misappropriating government vehicle entrusted to him for official purposes and also failed to make a reference to the State Government for taking disciplinary action against the said officer”, alleged Chaudhry.

He added the State Government is illegally spending Rs5 lakh of public money per day on advertisements not for disseminating information of Government schemes and programmes for the benefit of the masses, but to accord wrong benefits to the ruling party in the State Assembly polls. Chaudhry demanded that the cost of the advertisements must be recouped from the CM and the officers responsible. Further expenditure out of public money must be stopped immediately by the ECI for free and fair elections, he added.
