Dhankar, while speaking at the 10th Progressive Farmers Meet organised by CII here said that now, the progressive farmers in Haryana were being called ‘agri leaders’ and were serving as a source of inspiration to other farmers.

He said that lakhs of farmers from across the state participated in the Agri leadership Summit organised twice in Haryana, where they were informed about the latest techniques of farming. The State Government had awarded such agri leaders with various awards such as ‘Pushp Ratan’, ‘Matasya Ratan’, ‘Dughd Ratan’ and ‘Poultry Ratan’, he added.

Dhankar said that farmers would have to adopt crop production management and would have to produce crops in their fields according to the demand of the market. Then, the farmers could export their produce to countries such as Dubai and in the Middle East, he said.

He added that with the use of modern techniques in farming, the use of water for irrigation would reduce by 25 per cent.
