Haryana Government would urge neighboring Punjab to make a detailed project report(DPR) for the construction of Ravi-Beas link Barrage-II to prevent the flow of 1,112 cusecs of water into Pakistan.

Announcing this, Rajiv Jain, media in charge, Haryana BJP on Monday said, “With the progress of this project, Haryana will get 21 per cent water under the agreement between Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan. This will give a major relief to the farmers of the State, especially in southern Haryana.”

He said that both BJP Governments at the Centre —State are working hard to quench the thirst of parched lands of Haryana by bringing the due share in river waters to the State. The roadmap disclosed  by the Union Minister for Water Resources, Nitin Gadkari, during the recent 3rd Agri leadership Summit for bringing this water, has given great hope to the farmers of Hry, he said.
