The Haryana Government on Thursday made it clear that it would strictly implement the orders of the National Green Tribunal in the State and directions, in this regard, have already been issued to the officers concerned.

Announcing this, the State Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu said, “The orders of NGT would be followed strictly be it in the field of construction or vehicles.”

Captain Abhimanyu, interacting with the mediapersons after attending a seminar on ‘Eco-Restoration Opportunities In and Around Aravali to Reduce Water Stress of Gurgaon and NCR’, said that he has been informed in the seminar about various methods adopted for water conservation in the area.

Describing the Aravali as ancient natural heritage, he said that the State Government was concerned about its conservation so that environment could be saved for future generations.

“The State Government would set up a nursery of traditional plants like desi kikkar, jaati, jaal, khair, which would play an important role in the lives of villagers and farmers. Also, these plants do not affect the crops, but the leaves of these plants act as manure for fields. The varieties of these plants are on the verge of extinction. And that is why, a nursery would be set up for such plants,” he said.

Regarding air pollution, Capt Abhimanyu said that pollution has increased in NCR area and the State Government has taken effective steps to control it.

“The present BJP Government has got started construction work of KMP Expressway which was pending for last several years. Tenders have been released for one part from Palwal to Manesar and tenders for other part would also be soon released. KMP would be completed in next two-and-a-half years,” he said.
