Haryana Government on Thursday launched the registration process of linking voter ID card with Aadhaar Card. Under this process, people can get their voter ID cards linked with Aadhaar Card by July 31.
Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij who is also holding the charge of Election Department launched the facility. Vij said that this registration process would help in keeping a check on the use of fake or duplicate votes during elections.
He said that EC would organize special camps to spread awareness about this process. Apart from this, BlOs and other officers of the Commission would motivate people for linking their voter ID cards with Aadhaar Card.
After the completion of this process, no person would have two or more voter ID cards and even he could not exercise his voting right at more than one place, he added.
