Criticising the exclusion of Haryana students by creating 15 percent quota for “Rest of Haryana Category” in admission to Ph.D. by the state BJP Government, senior Congress leader and communications incharge of All India Congress Committee, Randeep Singh Surjewala has demanded the withdrawal of this ‘anti student decision’.
Referring to the Deen Bandhu Chhotu Ram University, Murthal, Stated that Khattar Government is the first and the only state government of the country, which has excluded its own students from competing for 15 per cent seats in PhD by providing quota to the students belonging to other states. Earlier they did the same for Engineering seats, he reminded.
Normally, the state Governments safeguards their own students by providing reservation to them, but by this decision, the youth of State have been deprived of right of admission in Engineering, Post Graduate and Ph.D. degrees, he added.
He stated that there would have been no objections, if the youth of other States were allowed to compete for admissions in Engineering Colleges of the State under the All India Category but the Haryanvi students were not excluded from the All India Category like the students of other States.
Surjewala said that as a result of this wrong decision of the Government, students of Haryana would not get admissions in various Government Institutions and Engineering Colleges of the state despite scoring more marks compared to the students coming from other states.
Surjewala further stated that Khattar Government has been jeopardising the future of the students and youth by its misdirected policies. Everyday, there have been reports of paper leaks for different examinations, jobs are being sold openly and now, the right to education is also being snatched away from the youth, he added.
