PNS

Haryana Chief Secretary Vijai Vardhan on Thursday said that the State Government has taken adequate measures to ensure a smooth, copy-free, and fair conduct of the HCS and allied examination scheduled for September 12.

A total of 1,48,242 candidates will appear for this examination at 538 examination centres in 13 districts across the State.

A meeting was held by the Chief Secretary with the Deputy Commissioners regarding the conduct of the examination. The chairman of Haryana Public Service Commission, Alok Verma and Secretary of the Commission, Bhupinder Singh were also present in the meeting.

Keeping in view the recent incident of police constable exam leak, the State Government has directed the DCs to keep a strict vigil for the fair conduct of exam on September 12.

During the meeting, Vardhan directed that the Deputy Commissioners would appoint magistrates or executive magistrates in their districts. Joint team of magistrate and police will visit the examination centres set up in the districts and crosscheck the arrangements. Special care should be taken in order to ensure that there is no suspicious movement of any person or vehicle around any examination centre. Apart from this, special vigil should be kept on sensitive centres, he said.

He also directed that the DCs should appoint a nodal officer in their district for overall supervision of the examination. A coordinator should also be appointed who will ensure all other arrangements like rooms, seating arrangements, drinking water and toilets etc. in the examination centres.

At the meeting, ADGP, Law and Order, Navdeep Singh Virk directed the Superintendents of Police that checking should be done in the examination centres and its surrounding area and on the day of examination, special attention should be given to this fact that no large gathering should be allowed to gather outside the examination centres.

It was informed in the meeting that the candidates would go for the examination after carefully reading the instructions given by the Haryana Public Service Commission. The exam will be held on September 12 in two shifts.

The General Studies paper will be held from 10 am to 12 noon and the CSAT paper will be held from 3 pm to 5 pm.

The State Government had faced sharp criticism from various quarters after the cancellation of the exam of police constable conducted by Haryana Staff Selection Commission on August 7 due to leak of question paper and answer key.
