Haryana Power Generation Corporation (HPGC) has embarked upon a mission to improve the efficiency of its thermal power stations and further bring down the cost of generation. The actual cost of generation of HPGC thermal generating units, during financial year 2015-16 has come down by about 5.6 per cent, as compared to that of the financial year 2014-15, said a spokesman of the Corporation on Friday.
He said that due to the availability of surplus power, the scheduling of power is done by the distribution companies as per the merit order, prepared on the basis of the cost of electricity, available from various sources.
