Himachal BJP on Saturday passed a resolution to condemn the Virbhadra Singh Government for letting down the State in Kotkhai gang rape and murder case and the sudden rise of crime graph in the State.
The resolution was passed in the State executive meet of the party at its headquarter Deep Kamal here. Interacting with media person, former Chief Minister and Member of Parliament, Shanta Kumar said, “This State witnessed rapes in the past, but such brutal gang rape, murder and Government’s attempt to cover up the crime was something, which had never been seen in Himachal Pradesh.”
He said that the political interference in the probe forced people to come down to streets, who later set a police station ablaze just to express their dissent over the response of the Government on such a serious and sensitive matter.
He said, “Seldom in the history of this State such lawlessness and misrule prevailed. People of State, known for their innocence and integrity feel ashamed on the way Virbhadra Singh had stuck to the chair forgetting all morality.” Kumar said that Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and his family members were on bail and still he was running the State Government. He questioned, how Virbhadra Singh could run the administration, while he was busy tackling corruption cases against him. Targetting Congress high command for supporting Virbhadra Singh, Shanta Kumar said that there seemed no high command in Congress as Congress President Sonia Gandhi and vice president too were on bail in a corruption case of National Herald.
