Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Thursday said that he is closely monitoring the situation arising out of the issue of alleged eviction of Sikh farmers from the Kutch region of Gujarat, and no injustice will be allowed to be done to them.

“We are keeping a close watch on the situation and have taken steps to ensure that the interests of Sikh farmers in Gujarat are protected and justice is done to them”, said Hooda in statement issued. A delegation of Haryana and Punjab Congress leaders, including Rohtak MP Deepender Singh Hooda, had met Prime Minister Dr Mammohan Singh, and apprised him of the discrimination being done to Silkh farmers by BJP Government in Gujarat, led by Narendra Modi.

The delegation urged the Prime Minister to look into the matter and come to the aid of the affected farmers.  Hooda and Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee President Phool Chand Mullan, had met a large gathering of Sikh farmers in December 2012 and assured them that all their rights and interests will be protected.
