'Hooda should step down immediately'

Bhupinder Sharma

Though the judgement of the Punjab and Haryana High Court is a major setback for Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, it may not affect his Government.

“Ethically, Hooda has no right to run his Government now, he should immediately step down on moral grounds, or else, people of this State will throw him out on October 15”, said Kailash Vijay Vergia, election in charge of BJP for Haryana polls.

“They are campaigning for sharafat aur vikas (Humility and development) in these Assembly polls, but after the judgment of the High court, the slogans have now turned into ‘mischievousness and destruction’ (shararat aur vinash)”, said Vergia.

The BJP leader said Hooda had formed his Government in an illegal way (shararat) and has been destroying the whole State with a number of scams or corruption since 2005.“This Government was in minority in 2009, hence all their decisions taken in the last five years are unconstitutional”, alleged Vergia. He added that BJP would re-examine all those ‘unconstitutional’ decisions taken by the Hooda government.

The main Opposition, Indian National lok Dal (INlD) demanded President’s  rule in Haryana after removal of Hooda Government with immediate effect.“After the decision of the court, it has been proved that the foundation of Hooda Government was based on corruption right from the beginning, hence, it is high time this Government was removed”, said Abhay Singh Chautala  , MlA son of INlD chief Om Prakash Chautala.

He said Haryana lokayukta has also given his judgement regarding corruption by six MlAs of Hooda government including Rao Narender Singh, CPS Venod Bhyana, Ram Kishan Faouji, Jarnail Singh, Ram Niwas Ghorela and Naresh Selwal in the said ClU CD case.

He said all the charges framed in our chargesheet against Hooda Government are being proved correct one-by-one.Haryana Janhit Congress supremo Kuldeep Bishnoi said, “Ultimately we have got justice.  Now people of the State would put their stamp and punish the corrupt people of this State”.
