Putting a question mark on the creation of Ambala’s former MlA Venod Sharma’s Jan Chetna Party (JCP), the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Badal on Friday maintained that the former Congressman was still “one” with Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda even after deserting the party.
“Hooda sahab and Venod Sharma have been one earlier and continue to be one. The Haryana Jan Chetna party has been created only to confuse the people,” said Sukhbir while addressing a series of elections meeting in Ambala City constituency in support of SAD candidate Balwinder Singh Punia.
Urging the people not to be fooled by the new outfit created by Venod Sharma, he said the former Congress leader was “directly responsible for the poor plight of this constituency as he failed to perform as a legislator despite being de facto CM of the State for a long time”.
Sukhbir assured the people that the SAD would take full responsibility for development of Ambala once Punia was elected as its representative. “Chautala sahab cannot say no to us, just like Badal sahab can never say no to the Chautala family,” said Sukhbir adding that once Punia was elected MlA, we would ask Chautala sahab to hold his first public meeting here to listen to your problems and solve them at the spot.
He said: “Hooda spent last 10 years heli-hopping between Chandigarh and Delhi to serve the interests of the Gandhi family….Hooda also increased the State’s debt from Rs20,000 crore to Rs80,000 crore during this period due to which Haryana is now leading from the bottom and not the top as the false Rs200 crore Haryana No 1 advertisement campaign is projecting.”
