In the face of a crushing defeat of the Congress in the recent lok Sabha elections in Haryana, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda is facing stiff Opposition on re-appointment of retired IAS officers by his own party members.
The Congress leaders are accusing the Chief Minister for giving free hand to the unbridled bureaucracy, which proved fatal for the ruling Congress party in recently concluded general elections.Former State Congress spokesperson, Ved Prakash Vidrohi on Tuesday said that Hooda has failed to learn a lesson from the recent defeat of the party and is reluctant to admit his role in the humiliating mandate given by the masses, which will only result in further ruination of the party.
He added that in the last nine years of the Congress’ rule, Chief Minister has given re-employment to more than one hundred bureaucrats on plum posts to exploit the common man. The retired bureaucrats, who have no accountability for the Government and the party, are only trying to secure their positions by hook or crook. Party workers and the common man have been ignored by them but Hooda remained mum on the issue, resulting in the gradual decay of Congress’ rule.
