In a suspected case of honour killing, a 15-year-old girl from Uttar Pradesh was allegedly murdered and buried by her uncle near Haryana's Panchkula district. Inspector Arvind, SHO, police station Chandimandir told The Pioneer that police recovered a body of teenage girl on Wednesday from Khangesra village, in the Barwala area of district Panchkula. It seems that the body was buried several days ago. Some clothes of the victim were also found in the fields close by.

“The deceased has been identified as a Muslim girl from Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh. Her parents had sent her here in Barwala at her uncle Saleem's house few days back to stop her love affair with a local boy in UP”, said Arvind.

Police added that the parents of the deceased girl complained to the local police that they were not able to contact their daughter for the last few days; hence they lodged a complaint against the uncle of the girl here.

Police managed to trace the body of the girl on Wednesday but her uncle and his son were at large, they were arrested late in the evening and during preliminary enquiry the girl's uncle Salim had confessed that he killed the girl with the help of his minor son Sadique, added Arvind. Police have registered a case against both under section 302, 201, 34, 120 IPC. However, the body has been sent to PGIMS at Rohtak for post mortem examination.
