Hisar Major and Petwar distributaries to be rejuvenated

PNS

Haryana Finance Minister, Capt Abhimanyu on Thursday said that Hisar Major and Petwar distributaries would be rejuvenated at a cost of about Rs100 crore.

This would increase water flow capacity and farmers would get adequate water till tail end of their fields, said Capt. Abhimanyu while addressing a gathering at Hisar.

He said that no Government had paid any attention towards these minor distributaries during the last 32 years, which resulted in uneven flow. Also the water flow capacity was reduced due to siltation and farmers could not get adequate water supply.

Capt. Abhimanyu said that these distributaries would be constructed in ‘V’ shape with modern technology. The construction work would be carried out using cement and concrete in such a manner that there is no leakage of water and structural integrity is maintained for a long time.

later, the Minister also attended the concluding function of the sports competition organised by Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Wrestling and Kabaddi Academy at Mirchpur in Narnaund, Hisar. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the players of Haryana have brought laurels to the state at national and international levels.
