In what could be termed as "dinner diplomacy", Ministers of Himachal Pradesh will be attending a dinner thrown by the Central leadership for the next two days in Delhi. It is supposed to be a platform to resolve organisational issues.

Virbhadra Singh left for Delhi on Thursday while the Ministers reached on Wednesday. AICC General Secretary in-charge of Himachal Congress, Chaudhary Birendra Singh had invited all the Ministers, Chief Minister and HPCC Chief Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for the dinner.

Sukhu, who is in Delhi for the past couple of days, is trying to finalise his new team of office bearers. He held several rounds of talk with the Central leaders. When contacted, Chaudhary Birendra Singh said that Himachal Government has completed its four months and the dinner is being organised for the success of the party in the recent Assembly elections.

Asked about any major decision being taken regarding the organisational structure in the State, Chaudhary said that when leaders will meet, discussions are bound to happen. Sources said that Sukhu is trying to finalise names for its new executive and is trying to maintain a balance between Virbhadra Singh and former party president Kaul Singh Thakur’s loyalists in the State.

Sukhu’s loyalists are also likely to find place in the new executive committee, which is likely to be announced sometime in May. PCC chief is also trying to push the names of dedicated party workers in the State Government by ensuring their appointments to the post of directors and chairpersons of different boards and corporations.

Party sources said that proper coordination between party and Government is needed now and Chaudhary Birendra Singh is laying special emphasis on this only to help the party in the upcoming lok Sabha election.
