Himachal BJP on Saturday submitted a charge-sheet against the Virbhadra Singh-led Congress Government to Governor Acharya Dev Vrat, demanding enquiry by a central agency into the charges.

The State BJP leaders led by former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, who is also leader of the Opposition in State Assembly, accompanied by Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda, State BJP chief Satpal Singh Satti submitted the 77-page charge-sheet to in which the opposition has accused the Government of rampant corruption and scams.

BJP has accused Chief Minister of supporting mafia rule in the State and said that the proverb of ‘Alibaba and Chalis Chor’ befits the present State Government. The charge-sheet says that forest mafia, drug mafia, sand mafia, land mafia, liquor and transfer mafia was prevalent in the State under the Congress rule. BJP has also accused CM of using his official position to mild down the corruption cases against him.

Reacting on the charge-sheet filed by BJP, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh termed it as a bundle of lies, which needs to be consigned to the dustbin. He said that it was an old habit of the BJP to levy false charges as twice during its previous tenure, he was implicated in false charges and twice faced the session trial and was acquitted.

Virbhadra Singh said as of now, the BJP was getting his single case of Income tax returns probed by three different central agencies, which has never happened in the country before. The Chief Minister said that as the Congress Government had ensured overall development in the State during its last four years, the BJP was finding itself on back-foot and the charge sheet was prepared in mere depression and to pour out frustration on Congress Government and its few Ministers. The BJP has no issues to contest upon, he said.
