The Himachal Pradesh High Court extended the time for shifting 20 Officers of Doubtful Integrity (ODIs) from sensitive to non-sensitive posts till January 8, 2014 on the request of the State Govt seeking some time to comply with the earlier order of the court.
A Division Bench comprising Justice Sanjay Karol and Justice VK Sharma also directed the officiating chief secretary to remain personally present along with the entire record of remaining 20 ODIs, if the orders are not complied with by Jan 8, 2014. An application was moved by the officiating chief secretary seeking another two weeks’ time to complete the process.
The officiating chief secretary submitted that out of 43 ODIs, 23 such officers have been shifted from sensitive to non-sensitive posts and the exercise for remaining 20 officers could not be completed primarily due to Winter Session of Vidhan Sabha and also due to difficulties in identifying non-sensitive posts. The matter will again be listed in the Court on Jan 8, 2014. Earlier, on Dec 6, HC has asked the State Govt to complete shifting of 43 officers with doubtful integrity from sensitive posts to non-sensitive posts in three weeks.
