The Haryana Government is likely to get AYUSH Ministry on the pattern of the Central Government.Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij on Friday said that he has requested Chief Minister Manohar lal to set up AYUSH Ministry in the State on the pattern of the Central Government. In this direction, Krishna Government Ayurvedic College at Kurukshetra would be upgraded to AYUSH University.
Vij while addressing the gathering after inaugurating the four-day long State-level ‘Arogya Mela’ organised jointly by Union Ministry of AYUSH, Haryana Health Department and Confederation of Indian Industry at Panchkula said that keeping in view the impact of Ayurveda in foreign countries, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has constituted a separate Ministry of AYUSH.
The Minister said that the State Government has been making various new schemes for promoting AYUSH. He said that world class yoga and natural health care centre was being set up at Panchkula. This would boost medical tourism on large scale as foreign tourists mostly visit Kerala for this and in future, they would visit Haryana.
Apart from this, the State Government would set up AYUSH wing in every general hospital and also the matter is being considered for making inter-referral arrangements like allopathy to Ayurveda or Ayurveda to allopathy so that appropriate medical facilities could be provided to patients as per their need, he added.Vij said that the State Government has made Yoga Guru Ramdev the brand ambassador to promote yoga and Ayurveda in the State. Ramdev has been requested to deliver capsule course of yoga to physical educators and Anganwadi Workers as the Government has decided to set up gym at two acres of land in every village. Also, students in all private and Government schools would be asked to practice yoga during zero hour, said he.
While talking to the mediapersons later, Vij said that the State Government will be opening various AYUSH centres across the State, the first one being in a big naturopathy centre in Panchkula very soon.
On being asked to comment on statement made by former Minister Kiran Choudhry concerning two new toll plazas, he said that this decision was not taken by present Government rather it had already been approved by the Cabinet of previous Congress Government. It was decided by the Cabinet of former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda to collect toll tax on the Tosham-Bhiwani and Tosham-Hisar roads. It was fault of Choudhry if she is not aware about this. Cabinet Minster should have information about Cabinet decisions, he said while taking a dig at the former Haryana Minister.
Commenting on the tweets posted by former Minister Capt Ajay Singh Yadav and a comparison drawn between him and Yadav in the past few days, Vij said that some Congress leaders described him of its kind but they should understand that Anil Vij is just like Anil Vij, and not like someone else.
