Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal on Thursday said that the United Nations has declared the year 2023 as the International Year of 'Nutri-Cereals' after the dedicated efforts of the Government of India to promote cereals. In the year 2023, the Haryana government will promote Bajra as a 'Nutri-Cereals' under the National Food Security Mission. In Haryana, Bajra is cultivated in about 10 to 12 lakh acres of land, while the crop production is about 8 quintals per acre. He said this while chairing the Executive Committee meeting of the State Food Security Mission in Chandigarh.
