The Haryana Government will constitute a Committee to look into the matter of safety standards of flats being constructed for economically weaker sections at Amravati Enclave, Pinjore. The flats are being constructed close to Kaushalya Dam.
Haryana Transport and Housing Minister Krishan lal Panwar on Tuesday while talking to the mediapersons hinted at the constitution of a high level committee to reassess the flats.
He said that a Committee is likely to be set up for reassessment of safety standards of these flats.
The Minister had last year ordered re-assessment of these flats which was to be done till December 31. A total of 720 flats were being constructed at the site that comprised 240 plots. Around 60 per cent of the work at the site has been completed.
Notably, Panwar had conducted surprise inspection of these flats on September 21 and expressed concern over their safety standards. It was informed that earlier, the assessment of safety standards of these flats was conducted by IIT, Roorkee.
Meanwhile, the Minister informed that on the occasion of 639th birth anniversary of Saint Shri Guru Ravidas, Haryana Government will organize a state-level function at Sir Chhotu Ram Stadium, Rohtak on February 21, 2016 to spread the teachings of Guru to all.
During the function, the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar lal would be the chief guest while the Transport Minister, Krishan lal Panwar would preside over the function.
Transport Minister Panwar while talking to the mediapersons on Tuesday said that from time to time, great saints and gurus have shown the people the true path. The name of Saint Shri Guru Ravidas is leading among the names of such great saints, whose teachings were based on devotion, love, equality and brotherhood. To spread the teachings of such great saint, the State Government has taken the decision to celebrate the birth anniversary of Guru Ravidas in a state level function.
Besides, MlAs, MPs and senior leaders, the function would also be participated by the representatives of organizations like Shri Guru Ravidas Sabha, Bhagwan Valmiki Sabha, Sant Kabir Sabha, Ambedkar Sabha and others.
