Expressing concern over gender imbalance, Manohar lal said that this problem was not confined to some states but affected the entire country. “The state government would launch schemes on women empowerment on the occasion of International Women Day on March 8. But with the persistent efforts of the concerned departments, this figure reached 901 in December 2014.

As per the data with state government, the sex ratio was 871 girls per 1000 boys till November last year, higher than 833 girls per 1000 boys in 2011 in Haryana. Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel, lt Governor of Andaman and Nicober Islands Gen (retd.)
