PNS
The number of buses in the fleet of Haryana Roadways would be increased from 4,100 to 5,100 during this financial year, said Haryana Transport Minister Ram Bilas Sharma on Monday.
At present, over 19 lakh passengers travel in Haryana Roadways buses everyday and a target has been set to increase this number to 40 lakh passengers.
For this, buses would also be included under the New Transport Policy on private partnership mode in which driver would be provided by the department whereas bus and conductor would be of the bus owner, he said.
Sharma while interacting with mediapersons after inauguration of the new canteen at Haryana Vidhan Sabha said that tenders would be invited under the new
policy. The current permit holders can also apply for  this tenders.
He said that Haryana Roadways is committed to  provide services of Volvo buses alongwith services of other comfortable buses to the people.
On being asked about setting up of a bench of Punjab and Haryana High Court in  Haryana, Sharma said that this would help in reducing the pending number of cases in the court.
He said that this bench could be set up at any place from Narnaul to Rohtak. The way Haryana has its share in Haryana Vidhan Sabha and Secretariat, in the same way it would have  such share in Punjab and Haryana High Court, he added.
