PNS

Haryana Finance Minister, Capt Abhimanyu on Friday said that the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill would not only strengthen the economic structure of the country, but would also prove to be a significant measure towards changing tax laws of the country.

Capt Abhimanyu while interacting with the mediapersons after attending the meeting of Empowered Committee of State Finance Ministers held at New Delhi, said that GST bill has already been passed by lok Sabha and hopefully, Rajya Sabha would also pass it sooner.

He said that hopefully by April 1, 2016 this bill would be implemented in the country.

Haryana Government agrees with the recommendations of Empowered Committee of State Finance Minister and appreciate the excellent work done by the members of the Committee in drafting such a comprehensive report on GST returns, said the Minister.

He said that the State Government is aware of the fact that the Empowered Committee has been making strenuous efforts to bring about GST which would be a major path breaking indirect tax reform.

He added that such a pan-Indian, seamless and uniform tax structure would send out very powerful signals to market forces to ensure that resources are allocated more efficiently in the economy and GDP growth is increasing.

Regarding the land deal case of Robert Vadra and DlF in Gurgaon, the Minister said that Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal has never issued any statement regarding any particular person.

Since beginning, we have been pressing upon the point that Haryana was not ruled by any particular family, community or region, but on the contrary the rule of the law prevails here. A person could never be more significant than the law of our country. The Government follows the policy of conducting investigations as per the law, he added.
