Haryana lessens importance of test marks in interviews to get Govt jobsc

PNS

To ensure transparency in the recruitment process in various Government jobs, the Haryana Government on Wednesday approved amendments to the rules fixed by Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) bringing down the importance of interviews in selections.

Now for interview for appointments to Class C posts, only 10 per cent of the total marks of written examination or the marks of academic criteria fixed by the HSSC would be counted in interview. Haryana Public Service Commission is also being advised to make such provision in the recruitment of Class A and B posts. This has been done to give no room to discretion in interviews which open the doors to favouritism.

The State Government will soon fill 43,707 posts in various departments, including teachers and police personnel. Those who have already applied do not need to apply afresh but the recruitment would be carried out as per the new criteria.

Also, there will be complete transparency in police recruitment. No interview will be held in recruiting police constables. Only endurance test, physical test and knowledge test will be conducted.
