A sum of Rs23.41 crore has been released to various Urban local Bodies (UlBs) under the Swachchh Bharat Mission for the IHls, he said.

Apart from this, the State Government has started door-to-door collection of solid waste in 318 municipal wards. The government has adopted integrated and cluster approach for collection to disposal and treatment of solid waste, under which 15 common treatment and disposal facilities would be created for all the UlBs.

As many as 10 agencies have been shortlisted for inviting Request for Proposal (RFP) for integrated solid waste management.  It is proposed that common solid waste management facilities would be provided in all the UlBs by October, 2019, said the spokesman.

The State Annual Action Plan (SAAP) is being implemented on the basis of Service level Improvement Plans (SlIP) received from the UlBs and a provision of Rs439.02 crore has been made in the State Budget 2015-16 for this purpose, added he.
