Haryana directs officials for mechanism for compliance of court orders

PNS

Haryana Government has directed its officers to set up an effective mechanism in their respective departments for immediate compliance of order or directions of Courts so as to avoid unnecessary rounds of litigation.

A communiqué in this regard has been sent from Chief Secretary’s office to all the departments.

A spokesman of Chief Secretary’s office said that as soon as any representation or legal notice is served upon any department asking for a relief, the same should be decided expeditiously in accordance with the relevant rules or instructions and by passing a detailed speaking order as mentioned in the Haryana State litigation Policy 2010.

He said that nodal officers concerned would be personally responsible to ensure that every legal notice or notice of demand for justice is promptly attended to and an appropriate reply is given to the persons concerned.

It had also been decided that Head of Department should also be held responsible for non-compliance or non-implementation of the Court orders or directions for disposal of representations or notices of the employees or persons within stipulated time, said the spokesman.

He said that the government had already directed its officers that court matters and time bound directions must be complied with in letter and spirit and within the prescribed period to minimize the unnecessary litigation and filing of contempt petitions against the state.

All the Administrative Secretaries, Heads of Departments, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Managing Directors or Chief Administrators of Boards or Corporation and Registrar of Universities in the state have been directed for strict compliance of the same, added the spokesman.
