Amid the ongoing war of words between Punjab and Haryana over the contentious issue of SYl canal, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal on Wednesday said that Haryana is demanding passage for its own share of water from through the Sutlej Yamuna link (SYl) Canal and not Punjab’s share of water.
The water belongs to Haryana and the State would get it, he said. The CM said that the Supreme Court had accepted the State’s request for early hearing on the Presidential reference in the case which had been pending for the last 10-12 years. We are now hopeful that the decision would come in favour of Haryana, he added.
