The Haryana Congress has asked the BJP-led NDA Government to withdraw the land Acquisition (Amendment) Bill, otherwise, a Statewide protest would be launched by the party. Kiran Choudhry, leader of the Haryana Congress legislature Party, on Wednesday asked the BJP-led NDA Government to withdraw the land Acquisition (Amendment) Bill, 2015 make necessary changes in deference to the wishes of the farmers after talking to them, and reintroduce it in the lok Sabha.

In a statement issued here, the former Excise and Taxation Minister, said the act of the Government to introduce the controversial Bill without making any changes despite country-wide outcry, smacks of its authoritarian approach, dictatorial style of functioning, and care-two-hoots-for-what-people-say attitude.

“Despite nation-wide outrage the provisions of the Ordinance have sparked, and the hint thrown by none less than Prime Minister Narendra Modi, that the Government would talk to farmers on the measure and protect their interests, it has moved the Bill to replace the Ordinance without making any changes. It shows how much the NDA Government cares for people and their views,” she remarked.
