Responding to the statement of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal where he blamed Haryana and neighboring states for national capital’s smog, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal on Wedesnday said that his government has taken all necessary steps to control the problem of smog.

“The Haryana Government had taken adequate measures to deal with the problem of pollution even before the letter of Delhi Chief Minister in August,” said Manoharlal while talking to the mediapersons here.

He said the Government is keeping a close watch on the cases of stubble burning and had also fined a large number of people for following this practive despite a ban.

More than 1,000 farmers have been identified for burning stubble across the State.  While FIR has been filed against over 227 farmers in cases caught by the Pollution Control Board, more than 450 farmers were charged a fine of over Rs 12 lakh in Haryana.
