Haryana Budget for the financial year 2017-18 is likely to be presented in the State Assembly by the end of February.

Finance Minister Capt. Abhimanyu on Wednesday said that with Centre’s decision to present Union Budget on February 1, Haryana Government is also gearing up to present its budget by February end.

“Usually the state budget is presented about 15-20 days after the Union Budget. Haryana Parliamentary Affairs minister Ram Bilas Sharma would discuss the issue with the Assembly Speaker and representatives of political parties and only then the date would be finalised, which we expect to be in February end,” said Capt. Abhimanyu while talking to the mediapersons here.

Over detection of ‘Hawala’ entry of over Rs1,000 crore in Charkhi Dadri of the state, he said the state and the Central governments, IT Department and Enforcement Directorate has been working in close coordination for the last two months to check any violation of law in view of demonetisation.

Action is being taken against those found carrying unaccounted cash, he said.

In reply to a question concerning the new Excise Policy of the state, he said, it is expected in February.

Slams Hooda, Chautala

lashing out at former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Capt Abhimanyu blamed Hooda for indulging in politics of threat and vitiating the peaceful atmosphere in the state with Jat reservation agitation last year.

Taking strong exception to the remarks of  Hooda’s son and Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda against the Chief Minister Manohar lal in which he had questioned that from where the present CM had come, Capt Abhimanyu said that the language used by MP reflected the sacraments given by a father to his son.

Capt Abhimanyu also condemned the recent objectionable remarks of leader of opposition and INlD’s leader Abhay Singh Chautala against Manohar lal. Asking Chautala to apologize for his remarks, the Minister said that it is unfortunate to see that leaders are using such foul language now.

Jat agitation

Asked why no action had been taken against those HCS and HPS, suspended for failing to control Jat quota stir in last February, Abhimanyu said the Home Department is processing the case and a decision will be taken soon.

On the compensation to be paid to him for the damage caused to his properties during agitation, the Finance Minister said that his family has decided to donate it for noble cause. If he got any interest on this compensation that too would be donated, he said while refraining from divulging the details of compensation he had claimed and have received from the Government so far.

On fresh call of agitation given by Jat leaders for reservation, he said that a law has been passed in this regard and government is committed to give quota to the community.

Mining scam

On allegations levelled against him of involving in a mining scam and misusing his position to further his business interests in Haryana, Capt Abhimanyu hit out at the Congress MlA Karan Dalal for levelling such allegations and termed it baseless. If I wanted to earn money, I can earn through my business but I am not greedy and not the one who will involve in corruption to earn money, said the Minister alleging that some Congress leaders are infact involved in the scam related to mining.

Haryana not to suffer losses due to GST

Describing the introduction of Goods and Services Tax (GST) in the country as a revolutionary initiative of ‘One Nation-One Tax System’ which would simplify the tax system between the states and the centre, he said that most of the states have agreed to introduce the GST with effect from July 1,2017.

When asked whether the State Government would suffer any loss with the introduction of GST, he said that it would not be so as the state would get compensation at a rate of 14 per cent of the revenue for the year 2015-16. This would be admissible for five years.
