“To provide immediate relief to victim of atrocity, the Deputy Commissioner concerned used to provide adhoc grant of Rs 7,500, which has now been increased to Rs 10,000. Similarly, the lump sum travelling allowance and transport money given to the victim of atrocity, his or her dependent and witness has been enhanced from Rs 100 to Rs 150 as local charges,” said a spokesman of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Haryana.
He said that the Chief Minister Manohar Lal has approved a proposal to this effect.
The spokesman said that the diet money given to the victim of atrocity, his or her dependent and witness has also been enhanced from Rs 50 to Rs 200 per day.
The travelling allowance, transport or daily allowance and diet money will be sanctioned by the District Welfare Officer concerned from contingency funds immediately after the hearing or witness on the same day.
For this purpose, Rs 50,000 was kept at the disposal of every District Welfare Officer, which has now been increased to Rs one lakh so that the amount can be spent according to the requirement, he said.

In case the victim does not fulfill any of the terms or conditions of scheme, the Deputy Commissioner concerned would be competent to give relaxation in the said terms and conditions, he said.
