Opposition attacks Govt over law and order situation

During the monsoon Session of Haryana Assembly, the opposition parties—Indian National Lok Dal and Congress—slammed the State Government for deteriorating law and order situation.

Lashing out at the State Government, Leader of opposition and INLD’s senior leader Abhay Chautala on Tuesday said that the State Government has failed to take action on FIRs registered in various cases.

While speaking during the zero hour, he also alleged that son of a BJP MLA was involved in a case of misbehaving with a cop but no action was taken against him.

Soon after the allegations, the treasury benches were on their feet and began shouting “Gundagardi nahi chalege” against the INLD. In retaliation, the INLD MLAs shouted slogans ‘Haryana Sarkar Murdabad’.

Following this, Abhay Chautala  rushed to the Well of the House and showed the Speaker Kanwar Pal Gujjar clippings of FIR registered in the case. To pacify the situation, the Chief Minister Manohar Lal intervened and said that current issues  should be raised during the zero hour.  If an FIR was registered in the case, then action will be taken in this case, he said.

A prior notice should be given so that we can give you information on status of FIR registered in cases who want to raise in the House, he said.

Manohar Lal also told Abhay Chautala, “I do not even remember the status of FIRs registered against you, but will provide the information regarding status of various cases later.”

The opposition also asked the status of inquiry into the murder of a priest and one other person in a temple complex in Haryana’s Karnal district while three others were seriously injured in the attack.
