Govt's job mela a political stunt: SAD

PNS

Shiromani Akali Dal on Saturday dubbed the Job fair of Punjab Government a “complete drama” aimed at getting political mileage from the routine placement activities of various educational institutions.

Party Secretary and Spokesman, Daljit Singh Cheema said the Government must explain that why they have not issued any advertisement to fill up vacant posts in different departments of Government so for.

He said that on one hand the Government is terminating the services of outsourced employees, on the other hand they have closed the unified 'Seva Kendras' causing loss of employment to thousands of educated youth.

“Similarly by disbanding truck unions they have jeopardised the life of thousands of self employed truck operators. Thousands of masons and construction workers have lost their livelihoods due to complete shut down of developmental activities in the State as well as due to faulty mining policies. Agriculture which is the main source of employment is passing through the worst circumstances due to betrayal of this Government on its loan waiver scheme,” Cheema said in his statement.

The Akali leader said that with all these negative decisions the Government wants to take credit of the routine placement activities of various

educational institutions by putting its stamp over it through advertisements. But it is not going to help the educated unemployed youths of the State who expects some concrete steps from the Government, he added.
