PNS

Haryana Government has proposed to treat the Agra Canal water to provide it for irrigation to the farmers in Nuh district.

This would prove to be effective in changing their fate, said TVSN Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance after chairing a meeting of district officials at Nuh on Sunday.

He said that area under drip irrigation would also be increased to 8,000 acres from 7,000 acres.

He directed the officers concerned to ensure benefits of the Prime Minister's Crop Insurance scheme to each farmer. For the purpose of awareness, periodic meetings should be held with progressive farmers so that maximum benefits of these schemes are availed by them. Area under Dhencha farming should also be increased from 380 hectares to 600 hectares, said he.

Prasad said the Centre and the State Government are serious about removing backwardness of Mewat region and this could be made possible only with the cooperation of all. The purpose of this kind of meeting is to prepare a roadmap for the development of Mewat area with mutual suggestions and consent. There won’t be any lack of funds for development works, he added.

He said that there is need to do more work in the field of health. Soon shortage of staff will be fulfilled by outsourcing or any other reasonable way, and doctors will also be appointed. All waste management plants would be geo-tagged as soon as possible, he said.
