PNS

Now, the Government educational and health institutions, including schools, Industrial Training Institutes (ITI), Polytechnics, Community Health Centres (CHC) and Primary Health Centres (PHC) would not face power cuts in Haryana.

The State Government has decided to provide electricity supply to all Government educational and health institutions located in the rural areas through domestic feeders instead of agriculture feeders, it means they will get uninterrupted power supply even during the paddy or wheat season.

The decision was taken in a joint meeting of power utilities and Education Department held under the Chairmanship of Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda here on Monday.

Similarly, those Government institutions which were located near the urban feeders would also get power supply from urban domestic feeders.

There are about 15,000 Government schools in the State and most of the schools in rural areas get power supply through agriculture feeders, they were not getting adequate power supply to run computer labs and other systems meant for educating the children.

The Chief Minister also directed the power utilities to remove the overhead electricity wires passing above the schools by June 15, this year the cost of which would be borne by the power utilities.
