To ensure transparency in procurement of goods and services required by Government departments and to keep a check on corruption, all departments in Haryana Government would be linked with Government e-market portal of the Central Government.

Haryana Urban local Bodies Minister, Kavita Jain on Wednesday said she had issued directions to link the Urban local Bodies Department, Information, Public Relations and languages Department and Women and Child Development Department with government e-market portal at headquarters and district levels within one week.

Other departments of the State Government would also soon be linked with this portal, she added.

Jain said this portal was a better option for direct procurement of goods valued up to Rs 30 lakh.

At present, 5,338 sellers, 17,416 buyer organisations and 3,270 service providing agencies had been availing the benefit of transparent system for selling 66,244 products, said the Minister.

She said goods to the tune of Rs 750 crore had so far been procured through this portal in a transparent manner.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the Government e-market portal under Digital India Campaign to provide a single platform for procurement of goods and services required by departments. This portal would ensure direct reach of sellers to all the departments of the Government and the departments would not have to waste time in checking the tenders of other departments, said Jain.

She added that in case of any defect, the product procured through this portal could be returned easily.
