Emphasising that welfare of women, youth, poor, scheduled castes and scheduled tribes was the priority of the State Government, Himachal Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Saturday said not a single day had passed since the present State Government assumed office, that it has not taken decisions or initiatives for people’s welfare.

Addressing a public meeting at Mela Ground Hat (Bajaura) in Kullu district, the Chief Minister said the central leadership has full faith in the present state government and thus it becomes duty of the Government to come upto their expectations. “The Government was working with a set target and it was the matter of satisfaction that the 100 days were witness of unprecedented development,” he said.

Thakur alleged the law and order situation in the State was completely out of order during the previous regime as drug mafia, mining mafia and transfer mafia were ruling during the tenure of previous Government. He said that the present State Government soon after assuming office launched Gudiya Help line and Shakti Help Button for ensuring safety of women and Hoshiyar Singh Helpline for checking various illegal activities like illegal mining, drug peddling etc.

He said that Mukhiya Mantri lok Bhawans would be constructed in all the Assembly constituencies of the state and a provision of Rs 30 lakh has been made for this in each Assembly constituency. He said steps had been taken to protect abandoned cattle.

Transport and Forest Minister Govind Singh Thakur urged the Chief Minister to construct an entry gate at Bajaura, since it was an entry point of Kullu district. He said that rope way would be constructed soon between Pandoh to Baglamukhi Mata temple.

Mandi MP, Ram Swaroop Sharma said the 100 days achievements of the present state government were an eye opener and inspiration for the other States as well. He said that the budget presented by the Chief Minister was historic as it had 30 new schemes for welfare of the people of the area. He said that Rs. 50 crore had been earmarked for Bhanupalli-Bilaspur-Manali-leh Rail line.
