Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal on Saturday said that the State Government plans to get the limit of the State legal Services Authority for providing free-of-cost legal aid to the people from the annual income of `1.5 lakh to `5 lakh.

The Chief Minister was speaking at a function after inaugurating the Sub-Divisional level Judicial Complex at Hathin in Palwal district The  judicial complex has been built at the cost of about `8 crore.

He said that in order to keep tabs on the increasing number of cyber crimes, the State Government would open first cyber crime police station in Gurgaon.

The Chief Minister appealed to the judiciary for cooperation in providing speedy justice to the common man.  The scope for information technology is expanding by the day, especially under the concept of ‘Digital India’ propounded by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. It is our responsibility to take this concept forward with ‘Digital Haryana’. With the expansion of e-Services in judiciary, the common man would be able to get easy and speedy justice. He appealed to the judges and advocates to move forward in this direction for strengthening the faith of the common man in the judicial system.

Referring to the recently held joint meeting of the Chief Ministers, Judges of High Courts, Chief Justice of India, and the Union law Minister in Delhi, Manohar lal said that he had requested for a separate Bench of the Punjab and Haryaan High Court for southern Haryana, and recommended the use of regional languages in place of English in the works related to the judicial system. He had also recommended 50:50 ratio of judges for Haryana instead of the present 60:40 in the Punjab and Haryana High Court. The High Court constituted a four-member committee of judges to study the demand of a separate Bench for southern Haryana. In comparison to Punjab, Haryana has more pending court cases in the high court. If these recommendations are accepted, the people of Haryana would be able to get quick justice, he added.

Justice Satish Kumar Mittal, Chairman, Building Committee, Punjab and Haryana High Court, appreciated the efforts of the state government and described Haryana as the best state in the country in providing legal services infrastructure. In Haryana, every individual has the facility of legal services within the limits of 10 kms to 15 kms.

Keeping in view the future requirements and resources, judicial complexes are being set up at the district and sub-division levels. Soon, a modern judicial complex 'Tower of Justice' would be constructed in Gurgaon. With the strengthening of the legal services infrastructure in Haryana, every case would be settled within two years, he said.
